We provide the planning basis for dimensioning and optimizing traffic networks. Based on traffic counts and surveys, we determine the relevant traffic volumes, prepare traffic forecasts, determine the dimensioning of traffic facilities and develop traffic signal control concepts. We test the performance and quality of traffic handling with model-based methods and use – depending on network size and task – micro- and macroscopic traffic models to simulate traffic flows.
